At 12:30pm on March 3rd 2016, the Digital Catapult Centre will be full of excitement with event management students ready to meet and network with event industry professionals. Glisser first thought of the event when they were told by a London based event management student that event technology was cruelly skipped over during their course, and that seemed wrong to us. Event technology is a huge part of the already massive event industry, with tech such as interactive presentations, digital badges, bluetooth enabled content hubs and so much more. This sort of software is available to event managers everywhere to enhance the engagement and interactivity of their events.
On the day, Glisser will power three audience Q&A panel sessions with their interactive presentation software, accompanied by great speakers from six of the top 10 event agencies including Capita, TRO and CWT meetings and events. Here’s a sneak peek at what they’ll be talking about on the day:
#1. Kickstarting your career in Event Management
Perfect for all years of event management students searching for an edge to make them the ideal candidate. The panel will be talking about how to stand out as a candidate, what companies are looking for, and what’s currently missing from the talent pool.
#2. What’s changing in the event industry today?
A look at how the event industry has changed in the last 10-15 years and how with the rise of social media and technology, how they have been incorporated to create next generation events. Topics will centre around, the state of the nation, event technology and one of the buzzwords of 2016: Experiential events.
#3. This much I know: Growing your career in events
Wisdom of the event industry will be shared with students as a counterpart to the first panel. Moving on from simply gaining employ within the industry, to nurturing your career, with the panelist talking from their own experiences and drawing on hindsights to talk openly about decisions they might have made had they had the advantage of hindsight.
Interlaced within the talks will be the opportunity for the students and professionals to network with one another. Some students searching for an insight into the events industry, whilst some professionals will be scouting out fresh talent and meeting the future generation of event managers.
They'll also get first hand experience with event technology by using Glisser's presentation software to ask questions of the speakers, tweet out content and offer their feedback reagrding how well Glisser's presentation app can engage audiences effectively. Hopefully giving them the motiviation to seek our and experiment with all types of event tech.
