Using Prezi and Glisser in harmony; two presentation software solutions enhancing your pitch.
Prezi is presentation software that enables you to deliver content in a different way. The primary difference is this: while PowerPoint, Google Slides and Keynote show each slide in a linear fashion, Prezi is more like a white-boarded story with everything laid out on one single large sheet. You then set Prezi up to zoom in on each section of that sheet in a linear (or sometimes non-linear) way. It uses a lot of animation to give your presentation a lot of pizzazz, and can look impressive if done well (especially to members of the audience that haven’t seen Prezi before).
Well yes and no. One of Glisser’s primary benefits is to share slides live, this means data is constantly being transferred between the presentation device and all the audience devices in the room, usually over a Wi-Fi or 4G network. In order to deliver this effectively, Glisser does not share animated or video sequences with each audience device - this would put too greater strain on the infrastructure. Instead, we share flat slides and collect loads of audience interactions, comments, votes, etc.
One of the great things about Prezi is that, although it produces a very animated output you are also able to export the same content as a PowerPoint file (PPT) or PDF. This means, alongside your full-fat Prezi you can generate a semi-skimmed version for upload into Glisser. Then, you can add all your Glisser interactive presentation elements as normal - email capture, polls, feedback slides, live audience Q&A;, Twitter feeds, etc. So you can get all of that useful interaction and audience information you want. But also, you are sharing a nice mobile-friendly version of your Prezi for your audience to write notes on electronically, and take away for review at a later date, or to share with colleagues. Ultimately, this means you have two systems to operate - your original full animation Prezi and the Glisser system which will be sharing slides and handling interactions. You’ll need an assistant to operate this, or have someone on the AV desk control it. Plus, if you want to bring up the interactions, polls, questions, etc. on the main screen, and switch to bring Glisser in as the second feed. All this should be straightforward for most events and venues. If you need further help, get in touch with the team at Glisser and we’ll see what we can do.
Incorporating polls from Glisser into your Prezi is super easy. Simply create your polls in a Glisser presentation as nornal (just upload a single PowerPoint slide in front of which you can add your polls). Create the polls and hit 'present' to get your presenter link. Paste this into your Prezi and you're good to go - don't forget to give your audience the audience code for the poll you'd like them to answer... What about the future? We hope to be able to integrate more closely with Prezi in the future - let us know if this would be of interest to you - and watch this space!
