One of the core features of Glisser is the ability to have the audience ask questions to the presenter whilst the presentation is taking place, which can be answered at any point during the presentation. A presenter can either choose to have the questions moderated before appearing on the main screen to be answered, or allow the audience to submit questions directly to the live question feed.

The LiveControl (moderation) module allows the presenter, or more commonly a person nominated by the presenter, to moderate the incoming audience questions, moderate incoming social posts, control the live presentation content, and view some basic analytics data live.

The presenter can share access to the LiveControl platform with a nominated person(s) by sending them an email with an access link and password from within the Glisser Presentation Platform. This link and password will be valid on a session-by-session basis.

Turn on Q&A Moderation

Log into your Glisser account, edit your chosen presentation and turn on Audience Q&A under Interaction Settings, then turn on Q&A Moderation.

Turn on Social Media Moderation

Log into your Glisser account, edit your chosen presentation and turn on Twitter/Instagram Feed under Social Media, then turn on Moderate Posts.

Open Presentation Moderation

From the Glisser presenter dashboard, select the chosen presentation and click on LiveControl (Moderate) from the right hand sidebar. You can either moderate the presentation yourself or send the link to someone else to moderate for you.

Moderating Questions

Whilst the presentation is taking place you can monitor and moderate the questions from the Q&A tab within the LiveControl (Moderation) panel.

  • Tick = Accept question. It will display on audience devices and the main Q&A screen.
  • Cross = Reject question. It will not be visible on audience devices and the main Q&A screen.
  • Eye = Hide/show question. This is typically used to remove answered questions from the main screen without deleting them (for post-event analytics purposes).
  • Star = Highlight question. Rather than display the full question feed, you can choose to show only a single question on the main screen, this is typically used to display the question that the presenter is currently answering. Once finished you can either unhighlight it to return to the full question feed, or highlight another question to replace it.

Moderating Social Posts

Moderating social posts is similar to moderating questions. The main difference is that questions can either be accepted into the platform or rejected, but not hidden.

Ask Seeded Question

If your audience are nervous about being the first to post a question to the feed, it can be worth posting a question yourself to get things going, and making sure your presenter never has a blank feed to look at. When on the Q&A tab, simply click on the + button to bring up the Seed Question pop up. It will appear as any other question in the feed, but it will be marked as a seeded question in the post-event analytics.

Creating a Social Wall

Social Media hashtags are commonplace at live events now, as it helps generate interest and boost attendance at the next event. However, events don’t trend unless you encourage your audience to share content, and a live Social Media Wall is one of the best ways to make that happen.

Selecting a Background Image

Your background image is used in various places throughout your presentation or event, for example as a backdrop to Q&A feed, Twitter Wall and Polls on the main screen, and as a backdrop to the login pages on the audience mobile web-app.
