Event Tips

In order to run your Glisser event you will need

  • A laptop connected to your main screen
  • A main screen
  • A stable internet connection (4G or wifi)

Not required, but you may also want:

  • A laptop on the AV desk with a holding slide, for a smooth transition between presentations (highly recommended)
  • Switcher between your two laptops (highly recommended)
  • A clicker (for your presenter on the podium)
  • A tablet/phone (to moderate audience questions)
Wi-Fi Setup

Glisser is a web-based application and can be run on any web browser. Although Glisser will work with a good internet connection, it is recommended that the presenters have a hard-wired internet connection for the laptop presenting Glisser slides.

Glisser has been designed to be effective over regular Wi-Fi and 4G networks, but it is vital to ensure that, wherever possible every effort has been made to accommodate visitor numbers, to ensure a perfect audience experience.

Audience members can use their own 4G network or sign into the venue’s WiFi to use Glisser. It is recommended that the venue has a minimum of 10MB of WiFi bandwidth for every 100 attendees.

It is also important to consider that some venues may also have individuals in the building who are not part of the event but who will be using the WiFi. Therefore, it is important to think about the whole venue and not just the number of attendees you have.

Key points to remember for AV and WiFi setup
  • Is there 4G in the venue for your audience to use?
  • If not, we recommend 10 MB per 100 attendees. Do you know the dedicated bandwidth for the venue room in question?
  • Can your Glisser presenter laptop have a hardline connection to the internet? (highly recommended)
