"New platform developments significantly enhance the way we deliver our events and enrich the user experience”.

Jacob Ward: “Over the last 18 months, we’ve developed a great understanding and insight into what the Glisser platform can deliver for our audience. They’ve become really familiar with the features and navigation and we’ve really appreciated being kept in the loop with new platform developments that can significantly enhance the way we deliver our events and enrich the user experience”.

Glisser chief evangelist, Vanessa Lovatt: “What would you say has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned over the past 18 months?”

Ward: “It’s a huge positive that Glisser is so simple to use but one thing we’ve learned is you can never over communicate to your audience how to get the most out of their platform experience. We’ve provided walkthrough videos, reiterated key points and focused on scripting for moderators. As a result, we’ve noticed less and less people getting in touch with seemingly quite simple queries about the platform. I guess, never assume that people know what they’re doing, however simple the technology may be.”

"Our in-person events not only attract regional attendance but also a worldwide virtual audience."

Lovatt: “Are you planning for hybrid events? Can you share your thoughts on the hybrid format?”

Ward: “We were actually producing hybrid events pre-Covid, which has given us a really solid foundation to work from and suits our global audience. Our in-person events not only attract regional attendance but also a worldwide virtual audience. Moving forward, we’ll be doing more of the same but with an enhanced platform and updated tools, courtesy of Glisser.”

Lovatt: “What would be your key piece of advice for planners of virtual or hybrid events?”

Ward: “Don’t get too bogged down or overwhelmed by the technology and don’t be afraid to be flexible. There’s much more opportunity for trial and error currently than there is when you’re just on-site. Plus, keep abreast of what others are doing and use that to inform your planning decisions. And finally, understand what your audience wants and always try to deliver on that.”

"We need to be able to showcase that technical content in the clearest and best way possible. Glisser allows us to do this and focus solely on the content."

Lovatt: “What makes you confident to recommend the Glisser platform?”

Ward: “Again it comes back to understanding your audience. Our audience come to our events to hear the latest updates from government and regulatory officials from around the world. We need to be able to showcase that technical content in the clearest and best way possible. Glisser allows us to do this and focus solely on the content. I’ve explored many other platforms and believe Glisser is unique in its approach, which definitely works in its favour.”
